These are the most common questions we receive. Please feel free to contact me if your question isn't answered.
Q - Can I do the class at my own pace?
A - The beauty of homeschooling is being flexible! The courses are self-paced. Students can go as slow or as fast as they want to. You will have access to the class for a year or indefinitely if you subscribe as a member.
Q- How does grading work? Do parents assign grades?
A- Every week, after your student feels that they have adequately reviewed the content, they take the weekly quiz. This quiz is taken only once. There is a quiz tracker that measures progress in the class.
Q- Can I do this course remotely?
A- From a coffee shop in Italy to your coffee table in California, take this class from anywhere as long as you have the internet.
Q- How difficult is the class? Can my high school student do it?
A- We built this class to be similar to an online college class yet incredibly engaging and simple enough for high school students. Students should have a high reading level and be able to study well independently.
Q- How much money will I save by taking this class and passing the CLEP compared to doing the course in college?
A- According to educationdata.org, the average cost for a 3-unit class is between $1,300-$4,100, depending on if you are in a state or private school. So you are saving a lot!

Q- is The CLEP test hard to pass?
A- Every CLEP/DSST test is different and has varying difficulty levels. We cover all the concepts in the test and provide many review materials to ensure our students have the best chance at passing effortlessly. If, for some reason, they do fail the test, they can retake it a few months later.
Q- Will the CLEP credits transfer to my child's desired college/university?
A- Most likely, yes. CLEP classes transfer to thousands of schools. To make sure, check with this link. Search your school by name, enter the exam title you want to take, and view the list of CLEP courses it accepts, its minimum passing score, and how many credits it awards for that course.
Q- How do I get the CLEP units?
A - At the end of each course, we walk you through the process of registering and sending your scores when you are ready. It is really simple:
- If you know what college you will attend, do this… When you register for a CLEP test, you enter your desired university. The final scores will be sent there automatically upon completion.
- If you are not sure what school you will be going to (most people in high school do not), do this... As you pass CLEP tests, your transcript of passed classes will accumulate. Senior year, before college begins:
- Submit a CLEP Transcript Request Form at https://clep.collegeboard.org/scores/send-scores-transcripts
- Fill in the required information and pay $20 to CLEP.
- CLEP will send your transcript to your desired school.
Q- What is the difference between DSST and CLEP?
A- DSST and CLEP are what colleges call "credit by examination." They are separate companies with the same basic idea. DSST has a slightly lower overall acceptance rate than CLEP but is still accepted by thousands of schools.
Q - Is Life Foundations Academy endorsed by CLEP or DSST?
A- We are not endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with CLEP or DSST. We have used the content outline from their website for each subject and designed our courses to meet those requirements.
Q- How long do I have access to the class?
A- We give you access for a year.
Q- Can I get a refund if I am not satisfied?
A- YES. If you are unhappy with the course, you can have a full refund within 30 days of purchasing.
Q- Is this a Christian school? Is there a big biblical emphasis?
A- Yes. We believe that God's hand can be shown in every single subject. We interweave biblical principles throughout.
